Wine saint

The patron saints of winegrowers (winegrowers, wine merchants, coopers and other winegrowing professions) are honoured in different ways depending on the country and winegrowing region. They are saints or beatified persons, many of whom died as martyrs. Their days of remembrance often have a direct link to viticulture in connection with the weather and vegetation cycle, which is often depicted in rhyme form in farmers' rules.
