Fine Riesling

This white grape variety is a new breed between Riesling x Muscat St. Laurent. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2013, the sire variety Muscat Précoce de Saumur, which is mentioned in the breeding list, turned out to be incorrect. However, this is based on only 20 DNA markers (see molecular genetics). The cross was made in Colmar(Alsace, France) by the French breeder Christian Oberlin (1831-1915). By the way, the varieties Bouquet Riesling, Diamond Muscat, Edelmuskat, Feinmuskat, Firn Riesling, Marienriesling, Muscat de la Republique, Muscat Dore de Semis, Muscat Flower, Muscat Bouquet, Muscat S cent and Muscat Riesling were created with the same parents. The vine produces white wines with Muscat. In 2016, no stocks were recorded (statistics Kym Anderson).
