This white grape variety is a new breed between Riesling x Muscat St. Laurent. Synonyms are Bukettriesling and Edelriesling. DNA analyses carried out in 2013 revealed that the sire variety Courtiller Musqué(Muscat Précoce de Saumur), which is mentioned in the breeding list as the sire variety, was incorrect. However, this is based on only 20 DNA markers (see molecular genetics). The cross was made by Christian Oberlin (1831-1915) in Colmar(Alsace, France). With the same parents, the new varieties Diamond Muscat, Noble Muscat, Fine Muscat, Fine Riesling, Firn Riesling, Marian Riesling, Muscat de la Republique, Muscat Dore de Semis, Nutmeg Flower, Nutmeg Bouquet, Nutmeg Scent and Nutmeg Riesling were created. The vine produces white wines with a muscat. In 2016, no stock was declared (Kym Anderson).
