Auxerrois - Weintraube und Blatt

It must not be confused with the varieties Chardonnay (Auxerrois), Melon de Bourgogne (Auxerrois Gros), Pinot Blanc (Auxerrois) or Pinot Gris (Auxerrois Gris), even if synonyms or morphological similarities appear to indicate this. It is not a colour mutation of the red variety Cot (also synonymous with Auxerrois). According to DNA analyses carried out in 2013, it is one of many presumably natural crosses between Gouais Blanc (Heunisch) x Pinot. It was a parent of the also presumably natural cross Grünfränkisch. The early maturing vine is susceptible to downy mildew, powdery mildew and botrytis. It produces neutral, low-acid white wines with honey aromas.
