Great

There are three grape varieties with this name:

France - Lival x Cardinal

The red grape variety is a new breed between Lival x Cardinal, which was confirmed by DNA analyses conducted in 2013. The crossbreeding took place in 1958 in France by the French ampelographer Paul Truel (1924-2014) on behalf of the INRA at the Domaine de Vassal. The very early ripening vine is only slightly susceptible to Botrytis. It is mainly used as a table grape. In 2016, 81 hectares of vineyard area were recorded in France (Kym Anderson).
