Common name (also Prestige Cuvée or Cuvée Spéciale) for the top product of a Champagne house. Such a champagne comes from particularly large vintages and has usually been stored or matured on the yeast for many years. These brands are often up to five times more expensive than the standard products of the houses. Often creatively named, these champagnes were often created and/or named for a famous personality or specially created after a significant event.
