Cuvée de Prestige

Common name (also Prestige Cuvée or Cuvée Spéciale) for the top product of a champagne house. This type of champagne comes from particularly great vintages and has usually been stored or matured on the lees for many years. These brands are often up to five times more expensive than the standard products of the houses. Often creatively named, these champagnes were frequently created and/or named for a famous person or specially created after an important event. Well-known Cuvée de Prestiges from renowned champagne companies are:

Cuvée de Prestige - Dom Perignon, Henriot, Krug, Perrier-Jouet, Ruinart

Products from a single and usually exclusive vineyard are called mono-cuvée. A list of other Champagne houses can be found under the heading Champagne.
