Designation for a champagne or sparkling wine that is produced from grapes from a single and usually exclusive vineyard of special quality with, for example, very old vines. It is usually only produced in very small quantities as vintage champagne (millésime). These include, for example, the champagne brands Clos du Mesnil by Krug, Clos des Goisses by Philipponnat, Rare by Piper Heidsieck and Vieilles Vignes Francaises by Bollinger, of which only 2,000 bottles are produced annually. The designation for the best product of a Champagne house is Cuvée de Prestige.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
