The Champagne House, based in Tours-sur-Marne, was founded in 1812 by the Laurent family. The property also includes the champagne companies Delamotte, Salon and Vicomte de Castellane. After the Second World War, the company experienced a rapid rise and today it is one of the four leading champagne houses. The two champagne brands Delamotte and Salon are also part of the estate. The most successful product is called "Alexander Brut Rosé" from Pinot Noir. The Cuvée de Prestige is "Grand Siècle", which consists of equal parts Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and is normally assembled from three vintages. Only in special years is it also produced as Millésime (vintage champagne). A rosé is also produced. About 6.5 million bottles of champagne are produced annually, of which only about 10% comes from our own 80 hectares of vineyards.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
