The white grape variety (breeding no. WE 88-101-13) is an interspecific new breeding between Freiburg 147-66 x Weinsberg 75-34-13 (Sauvignon Blanc x (Riesling x Amurensis)). It contains genes from Vitis amurensis, Vitis berlandieri, Vitis labrusca, Vitis lincecumii, Vitis rupestris and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid was crossed in 1988 at the Staatliche Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt für Wein- und Obstbau in Weinsberg. Plant variety protection was granted in 2020. The medium-early ripening and loose-berried PIWI vine is resistant to both types of powdery mildew and botrytis as well as frost. It produces fresh, fruity wines with gooseberry notes that have trendy characteristics of the parent varieties Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and Riesling. No stocks were reported yet in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
