The winery is located in the municipality of Essenheim ( Nierstein area) in the German wine-growing region of Rheinhessen. The family has been growing grapes here for around 350 years. As a result of the persecution of the Huguenots, François Breiniville immigrated from Villepot-Loraine in northwest France to Rheinhessen in 1655. Together with his wife Christina, he founded a new existence with agriculture and viticulture. Today, four generations live on the estate. These are the senior bosses Adam Braunewell and Axel with his wife Ursula (vineyards), as well as the sons Christian (cellar technology) and Stefan (wine tastings).

The vineyards cover 28 hectares of vines in the Teufelspfad (Essenheim) and Blume (Elsheim) single vineyard sites. They are planted with the white wine varieties Pinot Gris and Riesling with 30% each, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir with 20%, St. Laur ent, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The farm is a member of Fair'n Green and is managed according to environmentally friendly, ecological aspects with the aim of sustainability. This includes, among other things, cover crop for the purpose of supporting biodiversity (species diversity), the use of alternative plant protection products, rainwater collection and the production of solar power.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
