The winery is located in the municipality of Randersacker (Maindreieck area) in the German wine-growing region of Franconia. The traditional family has been cultivating wine here continuously since 1673. Today, the winery is run by Bruno and Diana Arnold. Wilhelm Arnold, the grandfather who gave the farm its name, was a founding member of the Verband Fränkischer Weingüter und Selbstvermarkter (the forerunner of the Franconian VDP).
The vineyards cover ten hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Marsberg, Pfülben, Sonnenstuhl and Teufelskeller (Randersacker), as well as Kapellenberg (Eibelstadt). They are planted with the white wine varieties Silvaner (one third of the area), Müller-Thurgau, Scheurebe, Riesling, Bacchus, Pinot Blanc, Kerner, Rieslaner and Würzer, as well as with the red wine varieties Domina, Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch. The vineyards are cultivated in a natural, environmentally friendly way. This includes, among other things, cover crop with the promotion of biodiversity (species diversity) and complete renunciation of synthetic fertilisers.
In the past, you needed a wealth of encyclopaedias and specialist literature to keep up to date in your vinophile professional life. Today, Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one of my best helpers and can rightly be called the "bible of wine knowledge".
