The white grape variety comes from France. Synonyms are Cornishon, Demoiselle, Krivalja, Olivette Précoce, Panse Musque, Panse Précoce, Royal Vineyard, Sicilien Précoce, Sziciliai Saszla and Sziciliai Szölö. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2013, it is a presumably natural cross between Bicane x Pascal Blanc. However, this is based on only 20 DNA markers (see molecular genetics). The variety was a crossing partner of the new varieties Aurore, Delizia di Vaprio, Thalloczy Lajos, Victor and Yalovenskii Ustoichivyi. The variety is grown in the Bouches-du-Rhône and Vaucluse departments in Provence. In 2016, five hectares of vineyards were designated (Kym Anderson statistics).
The Wine lexicon helps me to keep up to date and refresh my knowledge. Thank you for this Lexicon that will never end in terms of topicality! That's what makes it so exciting to come back often.
