The white grape variety is a new cross between Sicily x Zibibbo (Muscat d'Alexandrie). According to DNA analyses carried out in 2014, the Foster's White Seedling indicated as the parent variety in the breeding list turned out to be wrong. Synonyms are Delicia, Delizia di Capri, Delizio di Vaprio, Pirovano 46A and Zibibbo Precoce. The cross was made in 1908 at the research centre in Rome/Italy by the Italian breeder Alberto Piròvano (1884-1973). The early ripening vine is used as wine grape and table grape. It was a crossing partner for the new varieties Formosa, Ignea and Marengo. No stock was recorded in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
