The winery is located in the municipality of Nordheim in the German wine-growing region of Franconia. It has been farmed as a sideline since 1980 and as a full-time business since 2002. The farm is managed by Manfred Rothe. The vineyards cover ten hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Kreuzberg and Vögelein (Nordheim), Karthäuser (Astheim), Katzenkopf (Sommerach) and Kalb (Iphofen). They are planted with the white wine varieties Müller-Thurgau, Silvaner, Bacchus, Scheurebe, Helios, Pinot Gris, Rieslaner, Kerner and Muscaris, as well as with the red wine varieties Schwarzriesling (Pinot Meunier), Domina, Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir), Zweigelt and Regent. There is a high proportion of old vines. The vineyards have been cultivated according to the guidelines of organic viticulture since the beginning of the 1980s.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
