Vögelein

single vineyard in the municipality of Nordheim (Maindreieck area) in the German growing region of Franconia. The name is derived from the extraordinary wealth of bird species in this area. Well over 100 bird species are native here, including the rare wheatear. The southwest to northwest-facing vineyards with slopes ranging from 10 to 15% cover 250 hectares of vineyards. The predominant shell limestone soils are interspersed with loamy sand. The varieties Silvaner, Riesling, Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Blanc, Bacchus, Scheurebe, Pinot Noir, Dornfelder and Domina are cultivated here. The wineries Baldauf, Braun Heinz, Braun Waldemar, Rothe Manfred and Rudloff, as well as members of the WG DIVINO Nordheim Thüngersheim, have shares.
