The winery is located in the municipality of Bullenheim (Weinparadies Franken area) in the German wine-growing region of Franconia. A wine bar with regional cuisine called "Johannesstuben" is attached. The winery is run by Lukas Schmidt. The vineyards cover 12 hectares of vines in the single vineyard Bullenheimer Paradies on the southern foothills of the Steigerwald. They are planted with the white wine varieties Silvaner, Bacchus, Müller-Thurgau, Riesling, Scheurebe and Traminer, as well as the red wine varieties Domina, Dornfelder, Regent,Pinot Noir and Cabernet Dorsa. The premium wines include the red wines Pinot Noir Premium, Regent Premium and Cabernet Dorsa Premium, which are vinified from reduced-yield grapes (50 hl/ha) and matured for 12 months in barriques. In years with favourable weather conditions, Trockenbeerenauslese and ice wines are also produced. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines, Secco and noble brandies are also produced. The winery is a member of the Vielfalter association.
There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
