The winery is located in the municipality of Sulzfeld (Maindreieck area) in the German wine-growing region of Franconia. The family's viticulture can be traced back over 400 years to the year 1591. Since 1998, the winery has been run by Susanne and Hugo Brennfleck, the 13th generation of the family to do so. According to their own statement, the philosophy of the house is " to preserve tradition, to maintain values and to integrate modernity gently and carefully". The vineyards cover 22 hectares of vineyards in the single vineyard sites Maustal and Sonnenberg (Sulzfeld), Kalb and Kronsberg (Iphofen), Küchenmeister (Rödelsee), and Lump (Escherndorf). They are planted with the white wine varieties Silvaner, Müller-Thurgau, Bacchus, Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Scheurebe, Pinot Gris, Huxelrebe and Kerner, as well as with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Domina and Dornfelder. Low yields and selective hand-harvesting are used to produce high-quality, terroir-based wines. The leading variety is Silvaner, which is especially cultivated and vinified in various styles and also according to location, and traditionally bottled in Bocksbeutel. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines and noble brandies are also produced. The winery is a member of the Frank & Frei winegrowers' association.
