The white grape variety (also Alzey S 3962) is a new variety between White Elbling(Elbling) x Muscat Précoce de Saumur according to DNA analyses published in 2012. The maternity of Chasselas, as indicated in the breeding list, was found to be incorrect. The cross was made in 1927 by Georg Scheu (1879-1949) at the Alzey State Institute (Rheinhessen), plant variety protection was granted in 1969. It was named after Fritz Huxel (1892-1972), the owner of a vine school and winery, who made efforts to cultivate and propagate it. The early-ripening, very high-yielding vine is resistant to both types of mildew, but sensitive to frost and susceptible to botrytis. It produces acidic white wines with a variety of aromas of apricots, honey, spices and musk. Because of its special aromatic properties, it is also known as a so-called bouquet variety. Due to its sugar-rich berries, it is often used for sweet wines with special attributes. The variety is cultivated on 462 hectares in Germany and 4 hectares in England. In 2016, a total of 466 hectares of vineyard area were designated with a strong downward trend (statistics Kym Anderson).

The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
