The winery is located in the municipality of Feuersbrunn (Neufang 42) in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Wagram. The winery is rich in tradition and has been run by the fourth generation of the family, Anton Bauer, since 1993. The vineyards cover 16 hectares in the Gmörk and Rosenberg vineyards. They are 60% planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Welschriesling, Riesling, Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay, and 40% with the red wine varieties Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir. Natural viticulture is practised. Healthy soil enriched with humus forms the basis for the deep-rooted vines. Great importance is attached to grape production that is gentle on beneficial insects and the moderate use of pesticides. The physiologically ripe, hand-picked grapes are selected again on a sorting belt and bad berries are sorted out.

The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
