The VCIG(Quality Wine) area for red wines is located around the municipality of Valtiendas (Segovia province) in the Spanish region of Castilla y León. It borders the DO area of Ribera del Duero. The vineyards cover 100 hectares of vines at 900 metres above sea level. The climate is continental with dry, hot summers and cold winters. The red wine varieties Tinta del País (Tempranillo), Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Albillo, Garnacha Tinta and Merlot are permitted.
