Founded in 1973, the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux comprises more than 100 Grand Cru wines from the French region of Bordeaux in the appellations Médoc (including Listrac-Médoc, Margaux, Moulis, Pauillac, Saint-Estèphe and Saint-Julien), Graves, Pessac-Léognan, Pomerol, Saint-Émilion, Sauternes and Barsac. The objective is to increase sales of Grand Crus des Bordeaux through appropriate marketing measures. The UGCB sees itself in all its activities as an ambassador of French culture. The annual fair of Primeur wines in Bordeaux is one of the most important events. Every year, around 80 events are held worldwide. As of 2019 there were 135 members; honorary members are Château Cheval Blanc, Château Mouton-Rothschild and Château d'Yquem. See also under Bordeaux Classification and Grand Cru
