The winery is located in the municipality of Hohentengen (Lake Constance area) in the German wine-growing region of Baden. The winery, rich in tradition, was founded in 1628 by the Swiss Stadthalter Pelagius Ertzli and is located directly on the Hochrhein on the Swiss border between Waldshut and Schaffhausen. In 1982, the farm was converted from fruit growing to viticulture and was acquired by the Netzhammer family in 1986 with the first yield. After studying oenology in Wädenswil, Georg Netzhammer Jr. took over the management of the farm with his wife Andrea. Today, Adrian Häfner is responsible for the vineyards and Alexander Schira for the cellar management. The vineyards cover 26 hectares of vines in the Ölberg (Hohentengen) and Kapellenberg (Erzingen) single vineyard sites. They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Chasselas, Müller-Thurgau, Traminer, Johanniter and Solaris, as well as with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Cabernet Mitos and Regent.
