The winery is located in the municipality of Merano Merano in the Italian wine-growing area of South Tyrol ( Trentino-South Ty rol region) with a view of the Texel Group to the north, the Etsch Valley to the south and Merano Merano. The family, rich in tradition, has been growing grapes for 350 years. In 2014, a new wine cellar, a vinarium and a guest chalet were built amidst vineyards. The winery is run by Josef Waldner. Martin Pollinger has been responsible as farm manager and oenologist since 2018.

The vineyards are located at 300 to 600 metres above sea level and cover around six hectares of vineyards. In the Merano sites (4 hectares), the grapes grow on porphyry quartzite and granite soils. In the Marlinger sites (2 hectares) on moraine soils of slate, gneiss and granite. They are planted with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Vernatsch (30%) and with the white wine varieties Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc ( 70%). A high plant density in trellis training ensures low yields with high-quality grapes. The vineyards are cultivated according to the principle of sustainability.
