Domaine Les Grandes Vignes - Vaillant

The French winery is located in the municipality of Thouarcé in the Département of Maine-et-Loire in the Loire wine region. The origin of the traditional family business goes back to the 17th century. Today it is managed by Laurence, Jean-François and Dominique Vaillant. The vineyards cover 55 hectares. Two thirds of them are planted with the red wine varieties Cabernet Franc, Grolleau Noir, Pineau d'Aunis and Cabernet Sauvignon, and one third with the white wine varieties Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc. Biodynamic viticulture is practised according to certified rules of the association DEMETER. These include the renunciation of pesticides and chemical fertilizers. Certain care work in the vineyard is carried out in accordance with the phases of the moon (Chinese lunar calendar). The wide range of products includes red wines, rosé wines, white wines and sparkling wines AOC Anjou (Anjou Blanc, Anjou Rouge, Cabernet d'Anjou, Rosé d'Anjou, Anjou Mousseux), Bonnezeaux and Coteaux du Layon. The wines are bottled without fining and filtration and with a minimum use of sulphur. Around 220,000 bottles of wine are produced annually.
