Wöber Josef

The winery is located in the municipality of Engelmannsbrunn in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Wagram. The family's winemaking tradition dates back to 1730. Today, the winery is run by Josef and Anna Wöber. The vineyards cover 11.5 hectares of vineyards in the Hammer, Hausberg, Hohenweg, Lugawitz, Satz and Sebran vineyards. 85% of the vineyards are planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Roter Veltliner, Müller-Thurgau and Pinot Blanc, the rest with the red wine varieties Zweigelt, Blauburger and Blauer Portugieser. Natural viticulture is consistently practised with only minimal use of pesticides. Quality criteria are deliberate quantity limitation, short pruning and gentle processing (whole bunch pressing) of healthy, fully ripe grapes with the aim of producing fruity, aroma-rich wines. The premium wines include, for example, Riesling Klassik Hausberg, Grüner Veltliner Hammer and Riesling Sebarn. Around 40,000 bottles of wine are produced annually
