Urbanushof Paul Stierschneider

The winery is located in the municipality of Oberloiben in the Lower Austrian wine growing region of Wachau. The origin of the traditional family business goes back to the year 1696. Today the business is managed by Paul Stierschneider. A wine tavern and a guest business are attached. The vineyards include vineyards in the areas Frauenweingarten, Loibenberg, Klostersatz, Rothenberg, Schütt and Steinertal. They are planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Chardonnay, Gelber Muskateller and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as the red wine varieties Zweigelt and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyard is cultivated in a natural way. Through appropriate measures, only high quality grapes with reduced yields are processed. The product range includes various wines from the Steinfeder, Federspiel and Smaragd area brands, which are vinified according to the guidelines of the Vinea Wachau Nobilis Districtus winegrowers' association. In years with suitable weather conditions, Trockenbeerenauslese and ice wines are also produced.
