The name of the vineyard indicates former monastery ownership or cultivation by nuns. There are several vineyards of this name. It should not be confused with the vineyard Frauengärten (Weißenkirchen).
The Riede (site) lies between the two communities of Unterloiben and Oberloiben on the left bank of the Danube. The south to south-east facing vineyards at 198 to 204 metres above sea level have a slope of only 2% and cover nine hectares of vineyards. Shares in the vineyard are held, for example, by the wineries Alzinger, Pichler Franz Xaver, Schmidl Theresa and Urbanushof Paul Stierschneider. The Hinters Kirchl (also Hinterkirchen) sub-arde in Unterloiben is located behind the parish church. The vineyards at 200 to 203 metres above sea level have a slope of only 3% and cover 1.2 hectares of vineyards. Granner Emmerich has a share in the Subriede.
