The white grape variety originates from Italy. Synonyms are Trebbiano di Spagna and Trebbiano Romano. The parentage is unknown. The medium to late ripening vine is generally well resistant to fungal diseases or rot. It is an all-female grape variety. The variety is cultivated in small stocks in many Italian regions, among others Puglia, Emilia-Romagna, Campania, Latium, Marche, Sardinia, Sicily, Tuscany, Umbria, and Veneto. In 2016, a total of 30 hectares of vines were reported (Kym Anderson statistics).
For me, Lexicon from wein.plus is the most comprehensive and best source of information about wine currently available.
