Rose Nutmeg

The white grape variety (also Muscat Rosen Oberlin) is a new breeding between Pinot x Verjus Blanc, which was revealed by a DNA analysis carried out in 2013. Thus, the previously stated parentage Bouquet grape (Bukett grape) x Muscat Précoce Courtiller (Muscat Précoce de Saumur) turned out to be wrong. The cross was made by Christian Oberlin (1831-1915) in Colmar (Alsace). No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
