The white grape variety originates from Italy. Synonyms are Agras, Agryas, Agyras, Aigrun, Aygras, Bourdelas, Ciprinao, Grais, Gregoir, Gros Verjus, Pourmestra, Prunesta, Raisin Blanc, St. Marie Blanche, Verjus, Verjus Commun, White Syrian, White Verjus and White Verjus. Nothing is known about the origin or possible connection to the red variety Prunesta. The variety was a crossing partner of the new variety Rose Muscat as well as of the varieties Black Alicante and Guillemot, which were probably created by natural crossing. It is used as table grape. No stock was reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
For me, Lexicon from wein.plus is the most comprehensive and best source of information about wine currently available.
