This white grape variety is an interspecific new variety between (Triumph x Euleman) x Seibel 1. Synonyms are Gaietto, Gaillard 157, Gaillard Girerd, Madame Girerd and Seducteur. Genes from Vitis labrusca and Vitis vinifera are present. The hybrid was crossed in France in 1891 by the private breeder Fernand Gaillard. It should not be confused with the Rayon d'Or variety (with synonym Roi des Blancs). The vine yields white wines with a muscat tone. No stocks were recorded in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
