Pineau Couderc

The red grape variety (also Couderc 1) is an interspecific new variety between (Lincecumii x Riparia) x Pinot. It contains genes from Vitis lincecumii, Vitis riparia and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid was crossed in France at the beginning of the 20th century by the private breeder Georges Couderc (1850-1928). However, the variety no longer plays a role today; no stock was reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
