The white grape variety is a new breeding between Weißer Riesling x unknown variety according to DNA analyses published in 2012. The breeding list indicated "(Madeleine Angevine x Grüner Silvaner) F2" as the parentage. The cross was made by Peter Morio (1887-1960) and Bernhard Husfeld (1900-1970) at the Geilweilerhof in Siebeldingen-Pfalz. No stocks were reported in 2016 (statistics Kym Anderson).
