DOC area for red wines, rosé wines and white wines in the Italian region of Apulia. The zone includes the municipalities of Lizzano and Faggiano, as well as part of Taranto in the province of Taranto.
Rosso and Rosato (both also as Novello and Frizzante) are blended from Negroamaro (60-80%), Montepulciano and/or Sangiovese and/or Bombino Nero and/or Pinot Nero = Pinot Noir (max. 40%), Malvasia Nera di Brindisi and/or Malvasia Nera die Lecce (max. 10%). The Bianco (also as Frizzante and Spumante) is made from Trebbiano Toscano (40-60%), Chardonnay and/or Pinot Bianco = Pinot Blanc (max. 30%), Malvasia Bianca di Candia (max. 10%), Sauvignon = Sauvignon Blanc and/or Bianco d'Alessano (max. 25%). The three single-varietal wines Malvasia Nera, Negroamaro Rosso (both also as Superiore) and Negroamaro Rosato must contain at least 85% of the respective variety.
