The winery is located in the municipality of Göttlesbrunn in the Carnuntum wine-growing region of Lower Austria. The family owns the former parish cellar. Attached is a Buschenschank, where homemade Heurigen classics and game specialities are offered. Markus Lager is the third generation of the family to run the winery. The vineyards cover 8.5 hectares of vineyards, including the Rosenberg, Bärenreiser and Aubühl vineyards, mostly on south-facing slopes. They are 55% planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Pinot Blanc, Müller-Thurgau, Gelber Muskateller, Welschriesling and Sauvignon Blanc, and 45% with the red wine varieties Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Syrah. Since the 2019 vintage, the vineyards have been cultivated in an environmentally friendly, nature-oriented manner according to the certified rules of organic viticulture with, for example, the cultivation of flowering strips. Sheep graze between the rows of vines.

The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
