The winery is located in the municipality of Teesdorf in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region Thermenregion. The house was first mentioned in a document in 1820. The logo on the bottle label depicts the "Marterl unter zwei Linden" ("Monastery under Two Linden Trees") on Teesdorf's main square. Attached to the house is a wine tavern where the entire range of wines is also served by the glass. The family business is now in its third generation. Johann Gisperg is responsible for the vineyards, Johann jun. for the cellar management since 2013.

The vineyards cover 16.5 hectares of vineyards. They are 65% planted with the red wine varieties Zweigelt, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Blauer Portugieser, Zweigelt and St. Laurent, and 35% with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Frühroter Veltliner, Neuburger, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Riesling. The most important quality criteria are restrictive work in the vineyard, gentle processing of the grapes and careful ageing in the cellar.
