The white grape variety is a new breeding between SV 12-423 (Iloa) x Gewürztraminer. Synonyms and breeding-number respectively are FR 868-59 and Freiburg 868-59. The hybrid was crossed in 1959 by the vine breeder Johannes Zimmermann (1907-1998) at the Weinbauinstitut Freiburg (Baden-Württemberg). The early ripening vine is used as a wine grape. In 2016, however, no stocks were reported (statistics Kym Anderson).
