State Winegrowing Institute (Experimental and Research Institute for Winegrowing and Wine Treatment) in Freiburg. It is located on the edge of the southern Black Forest in Baden-Württemberg. Here, a wide range of practical research is conducted in the fields of Biology of vine plants, vine pests, and vine diseases, including corresponding defense measures (vine protection service) and the implementation of official medium testing, Vine Breeding and Grafting, winegrowing with winegrowing technology, vine nutrition, and Cover Management, site knowledge and Soil Science, wine treatment, wine composition, Wine Analytics including Fermentation Techniques and residue questions.
