Commonly used part of vine variety names and synonyms in Portugal. Although it is not a vine variety family, there are parent-progeny relationships for some varieties. Confusingly, some of the synonyms are used several times; one extreme example is Boal Cachudo for five grape varieties. In addition, sources often mention only "Boal", which makes it even more difficult to distinguish.

Boal Babosa = Ahmeur Bou Ahmeur

Boal Bonifacio = Vital

Boal Cachudo = Arinto, Boal Branco, Boal Vencedor, Damaschino, Malvasia Fina, Síria
Boal Carrasquenha, Boal Carrasquenho = Cayetana Blanca
Boal de Alicante = Boal Branco, Damascus
Boal de Alicante Moscatel
Boal de Praça = Beba
Boal de Praga (B. Cachudo) = Síria

Boal no Douro = Sémillon
Boal Prior = Tamarez, Trincadeira das Pratas
Boal Ratinho = Ratinho
Boal Rosado = Jampal
Boal Roxo = Malvasia Fina Roxa
