Parent-child relationship

Designation (also parent-child relationship) for a relationship between grape varieties that cannot be clearly determined in the context of DNA analyses. One variety is a direct descendant of the other, but it can also be the other way round. See also under crossbreeding; and a list of keywords relevant to grape varieties under grapevine.
