The white grape variety originates from Portugal. Synonyms are Alvaro de Soire, Alvaro de Sousa, Boal, Boal Chachudo, Colhão de Gallo, Dame Blanche, Dona Branca, Dona Branca no Dão, Graciosa, Gracioso, Malvasia Branca, Malvasía Grosso, Moza Fresca, Pinheira Branca, Roupeiro and Santo Estevao. The parentage (parentage) is unknown. Whether there is a genetic relationship with the variety Síria with many of the same synonyms (for example, Alvaro de Sousa, Boal Cachudo, Dona Branca, Moza Fresca, Sante Estevao) is also unknown. No stocks were reported in 2016 (statistics Kym Anderson).
