According to DNA analyses carried out in 2007, there is a relationship to the Petit Verdot variety (ex Wine Grapes). It should not be confused with the varieties Bouchalès (synonym Bouissalet), Courbu Blanc or Raffiat de Moncade due to partly identical synonyms or morphological similarities.
