The winery is located in Gambach, a district of Karlstadt ( Maindreieck area) in the German wine-growing region of Franconia. It was founded in 2010 by newcomer Stefan Vetter. The vineyards cover 4.5 hectares of vines in the two single vineyard sites Kirchberg (Castell) and the terraced site Kalbenstein (Gambach). In addition to the Keuper soil in the Kirchberg in Castell, the transition from shell limestone to red sandstone in the Kalbenstein in Gambach offers the opportunity to express all three soils of the Triassic especially with the Silvaner wines.
The average age of the vines is 50 years, the oldest vines are 90 years old. They are planted with the white wine varieties Silvaner (70%), Müller-Thurgau and Riesling, as well as Pinot Noir. The vineyards are cultivated according to the rules of organic viticulture(certification 2013 DE-ÖKO-003).
