The white grape variety is an interspecific new variety between Seyve Villard 12375 (Villard Blanc) x Sauvignon Blanc. It contains genes from Vitis berlandieri, Vitis rupestris and Vitis vinifera. The crossing of the hybrid was done in 1998 in Gols (Burgenland, Austria) by the private breeders Dr. Gertrude Mayer and Georg Paul Weiss. The medium-late maturing variety is resistant to fungal diseases and frost. It yields a white wine rich in extract, similar to Sauvignon Blanc. In 2016, no stocks were recorded (Kym Anderson).
For me, Lexicon from wein.plus is the most comprehensive and best source of information about wine currently available.
