Producer description of "Weingut Ploder-Rosenberg"

The winery is located in the municipality of St. Peter am Ottersbach, in the Austrian wine-growing region of Vulkanland Steiermark. The winery also organises and offers wine seminars, tastings and guided tours. The winery is run by Manuel and Alfred Ploder. The vineyards cover 11.5 hectares in the Alte Riede, Eichholz, Kapellen, Kreuzfeld, Luttenberg, Michlkeller, Mitteregg and Steinriede sites. Since 2006, they have been cultivated in a completely biodynamic and sustainable manner in accordance with the certified DEMETER rules in perma-culture. The list of varieties also includes some PIWI varieties. The white wine varieties Pinot Blanc, Morillon ( Chardonnay), Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Bl anc, Gelber Muskateller, Grüner Veltliner, Muscaris, Souvignier Gris, Bronner, Blossom Muskateller and Sauvignac, as well as the red wine variety Cerason are cultivated.
