The winery is located next to the municipality of Villarrobledo (province of Cuenca) in the Spanish region of Castilla-La Mancha. The name "Jaraba" is of Arabic origin and means "water-rich land". The formerly purely agricultural business was reorganised by the new owner in 2001. The olive grove and livestock farming were reactivated and the winery, a cheese dairy and an olive oil mill were built. The vineyards cover 80 hectares of vines at 750 metres above sea level on soils enriched with alluvial pebbles, quartzites and sandy silicates. They are planted with the red wine varieties Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Graciano, as well as the white wine variety Sauvignon Blanc. The "Pago de la Jaraba" area was classified as the highest Spanish wine quality level Vino de Pago in 2019. DO La Mancha wines are also produced. Vinification is carried out in a gentle manner in the state-of-the-art wine cellar. The wines are matured in French oak barrels or concrete cisterns. Some of them are bottled without filtration. Olive oil and artisan Manchego cheese made from sheep's milk are also produced.
