Common name for vineyards (sites) in Austria. There are 5 vineyards named Nussberg, 4 named Nussberg plus an additional part of the name and 3 named Nussberg. The name refers to a mountain with walnut trees.
The south-south-west facing vineyards cover 8 hectares of vines at 365 to 452 metres above sea level with a slope of 4° to 39°. However, the vineyard is divided into a northern and a southern part and is situated in a basin open to the west (Ratscher valley basin) with vineyards predominantly exposed to the west to south-west, creating a warm microclimate with pronounced day-night differences. The Nussberg Leiten, Nussberg Plateau, Nussberg Pretschnigg and Nussberg Stauder vineyards are located around the Nussberg vineyard.
