Designation (also steep slope) for a particularly steep vineyard or vineyard area with a slope of 45 degrees (i.e. 100%) and more, which also requires special cultivation. Very often such vineyards are laid out in terraces and, due to the steepness, may have to be cultivated with monorack tracks. See in detail under the keyword steepest vineyard (with many pictures of steep slopes).
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
