Designation (also steep slope) for a particularly steep vineyard or vineyard area with a slope of 45° (i.e. 100%) and more, which also requires special cultivation. Very often such vineyards are laid out in terraces and, due to the steepness, may have to be cultivated with monorack tracks. See in detail under the keyword steepest vineyard (with many pictures of steep slopes).

In the past, you needed a wealth of encyclopaedias and specialist literature to keep up to date in your vinophile professional life. Today, Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one of my best helpers and can rightly be called the "bible of wine knowledge".
