The white grape variety is a new variety between Couderc 603 (Bourrisquou x Rupestris) x Pedro Ximénez. Synonyms are 299-35, Couderc 19 and Couderc 299-35, which contain genes from Vitis rupestris and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid was crossed in 1894 by grower Georges Couderc (1850-1928) in France. It produces white wines with a muscat flavour. The variety was a crossing partner in the new varieties L'Acadie Blanc and Valvin Muscat. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
