The white grape variety is an interspecific new variety between Chaush Belyi/Chaouch Blanc (Çavuş) x Pierrelle. Synonyms are Leana, Liana, Liyana and Ljna. Genes of Vitis berlandieri, Vitis rupestris and Vitis vinifera are included. The hybrid was crossed in Moldova by the breeders D. D. Verderevskii, K. A. Voitovich and I. N. Naidenova. The variety is mainly used as table grape, but also as wine grape. In 2016, an area under cultivation of 41 hectares was reported in Moldova (statistics Kym Anderson).
